Book Club

At my daughters elementary school the principal will be starting a book club for the 5th & 6th graders. They will meet at lunchtime, and they will have lunch and discuss a certain book with the principal. The book club has received their first book to read, and the parents are encouraged to read the book also. The first book is written by Cynthia Rylant, the book is titled "Missing May". The book is only 89 pages long but I found it to be a delightful story, it deals with loss and how people handle grief. I don't usually talk about my children's interests, but I found this to be a great way to get children interested in reading. I remember as a child I loved to read, some of the first books I read was a series called "The Happy Hollisters". Today I still enjoy reading, though I don't get a chance to as much as I would like.
