Very interesting. I have always liked Jane Fonda, even when others didn't. Kenna gave me her autobiography, "My Life, So Far", a number of years ago in which she explains how she was duped by the North Vietnamese into looking as though she were posing for pictures promoting their point of view. The real reason she went to North Vietnam, she states, was to find out if the U.S. was bombing the dykes above the rice fields, which would have devastated the economy of the average people and probably led to mass drowings as well. She also states the trip was the biggest mistake of her life.
Gasoline is high everywhere. What aggravates me is that we have oil and gas wells all around us here and all kinds of facilities to convert the oil to gasoline at Houston, five hours away. Doesn't seem to make any difference.
I never have a problem with Facebook. I think you just haven't got the hang of it.
It's so nice to see the feral cats now bonding with you and the other kitties.
I said the same thing. I have seen some really outstanding opening ceremonies. Unfortunately, this was not one of them. I thought the music was atrocious. If I wanted rock music, I could have watched MTV. And if he was trying to tell a story of England, he missed the events that could have added color and pageantry of the King Artur legends, the kilts of Scotland, the leprechauns and mystique of Ireland. All that would have been so much more colorful and interesting than the Industrial Revolution. I got so bored I turned it off and read instead.
Another young life, and a talent, cut short by cancer. I so wish we could save more than we do.
What a personality. She must give you a laugh every day! Animals personalities are every bit as unique as humans.
I'm sure it went straight in the trash. And I agree with Laura (Troutbend). If you are going to launch an attack, at least don't be a coward and send it anonymously. That's exactly why newspapers won't print anonymous letters. It is easy to be nasty if you hide behind anonymity.
I'm not a knitter, so it's all Greek to me.
Wish you could send some of your rain our way. It is so hot and dry here.
Kansas competes with boredom and loses. Been there, done that!
I know Laura was so happy to meet you, and I'll bet she was a first-class host.
Sometimes it seems it takes forever to find the right job. I'll pray that you do soon. The heat is terrible here too. I feel for you working in it. I can't believe little Sophie is a year old. Time does fly.
Yes, the kitties are cute. All animals, including the human variety, are so sweet and precious when they are babies. I miss not having a baby to cuddle. Kenzie is now nine, and she still loves to get and give hugs, but it is not quite the same as a baby. Holly says "no more children" and I know Kenna is getting too old, so I guess my "sweet baby days" are behind me.
The heat is terrible here too. Yesterday was 106 and no real relief in sight. Boy, am I ready for fall and football!!
