Meeting MyBloggers in Person

It appears that Jennifer and I will have the privilege of meeting yet another MyBloggers blogger next week. Jenn and I are taking a vacation to Colorado and will be staying in the lovely cabins of our own "troutbend" Laura. We are so excited! This will be a welcome break from the hot, dry summer we've been having here in Oklahoma.
Jeri tells me it would be prudent to take along a jacket and sweaters, as it gets quite chilly in the evening. I cannot tell you how delightful the prospect of sweaters in July is to me.
Now, we've got lots to do before we go. These items come first to mind:
1. Can our tomatoes before they spoil.
2. Make jalapeño poppers in order to use up our jalapeños before they spoil. (Would you like to have some peppers and squash, Laura?)
3. Ask the neighbor to park one of his five cars in our driveway while we're gone so it will appear that someone is here.
4. Cover the pool and turn off the pump.
5. Research the fun things to do around the cabin area.
6. Check the air pressure on the car tires.
Jiggity jig!! We're going on our first official vacation as a family!!!

I know Laura was so happy to meet you, and I'll bet she was a first-class host.

But why cover it in the summer?

I thought it might prevent more dirt from blowing in. We left it uncovered.

Been there, done that. Her pies are to die for!

Jeri says she's a first class cook! I can't wait. Just the solitude and quiet will be worth the trip. Good food and fellowship is an added bonus!

48 degrees this morning at 7 am. I'll trade you a home-baked pie for some tomatoes, squash, and a couple jalapenos.

You're on! Your bag of goodies is already packed!

Yes, indeed. Lots of vegging if I have my way.

Have loads of fun ... meanwhile, why not leave the pool pump on? Algae must be kept at bay.

I always fear it will take on air and burn up. But you're right, it would be better to leave it on. I cannot imagine what the water would look like after one week with the temperatures we've been having.

Have a great trip--say hello to Quackers and the wolf for me! :O)

Doesn't #4 undo #3? Who would have a pool covered in the summer?
comment by greatmartin on July 10, 2012 9:05 AM ()
The pool is out of sight to the public.
