The weekly AAA Texas survey released Thursday shows that the Dallas-Fort Worth area has the most expensive gas in Texas, with drivers paying $3.52 a gallon on average for regular unleaded.Â
The price for gasoline statewide has jumped sharply, increasing by 13 cents on what analysts say is pressure from oil prices and a drought-driven boost in the cost of ethanol. The AAA survey showed Texans were paying $3.49 per gallon on average. The national average is also up sharply, to $3.66.Â
Analysts for AAA Texas say global crude oil prices are on the rise, as are the costs for domestic ethanol because of severe drought in the Midwest.
Analysts are still predicting that gas prices could drop when the summer driving season ends next month.
Just a couple of months ago, I paid 3.13. It seems any excuse, although I realize that corn crops were devastated this year because of drought, will do to force us to pay more at the pump.
I also read recently that this past July was the hottest on record for the United States. But, as our Republican friends keep reminding us, globing warming is all a myth. And we ALL know how HONEST they are!
On a lighter note, Bailey has a new boyfriend. The thing I like about this guy, aside from the fact that he is a real cutie, is that he is over six feet tall. Bailey, who is 5 ft. 8 in. and still growing needs a tall guy. Â
He is only 14, like she, which is unusual for a guy to get his height that young. Bailey is only allowed to go on "group dates", so his parents took the two of them and other friends to Hawaiian Falls, a waterpark, last Monday. They are taking the same kids to see "The Bourne Legacy" today. It seems "young love will find a way."
As for Kenzie, she broke her right pinky finger when she fell last Sunday evening while riding her bike. At first, Holly and Bevan thought she had just jammed it; but it was so black and blue Monday morning that Bevan took her to the pediatrician. When the doctor x-rayed it, it was actually broken.Â
So, she now has a splint and gymnastics is out for at least six weeks, if not longer.  I don't think gymnastics is in her future for the long haul anyway, since she at Age Nine is already nearly as tall as I am.  I have also noticed that she is already the tallest member of her gymnastics class. I truly believe she will be taller than Bailey in time, because she has always had a larger bone structure than her big sis.
That's it for this Friday...See you next week.

My republican son and DIL also insist global warming is a myth.
