It has been a long while since I have been here, so I thought I would just post an update.
I got food poisoning about two and a half weeks ago and fainted in my bathroom. I hurt my leg; the x-ray showed a hairline fracture just above the knee, so I have been wearing this brace from hell every since. It extends from my hip to my ankle and weighs about five pounds. However, it seems to be doing the trick. I could not bend my knee even to a 45 degree angle at first; now I have nearly full mobility back. I think I'll get rid of the brace this Thursday.
Bailey, who has dreams of becoming either a director or screenwriter, attended a theater seminar for two weeks at UCLA about a month ago. She wrote and directed a short film while there. She came home with awards for "Best Screenplay" and "Best Director" and her film took second place. So, perhaps the child does have a future in film after all.
She also attended her modeling school this summer and will soon have her portfolio. She has an agency lined up to represent her. So, modeling may still be in her future too.
Little Buddy is the athlete of the family. She spent her summer on the swim team and playing golf. Of course, her dad who is a golf nut, thinks she has a fabulous future in golf. I think she may be a decent golfer someday but I don't see her as the next Nancy Lopez.
Grandson has transferred from his college in Utah to Oklahoma State University. He left last Thursday for orientation and enrollment. I had a feeling one year out there might be enough.
Holly is busy traveling a lot with her job, as usual. She has not had to make any overseas trips recently, though.
Kenna's significant other was out running this summer and sat down on a ledge to rest. He decided to run the other direction, turned around on the ledge and jumped down....fifteen feet straight into a ravine. He suffered a concussion, crushed his shoulder and broke five ribs. The doctors in Clinton transferred him to Oklahoma City where he and Kenna spent a week at Baptist Hospital.
Kenna said it was just like "Terms of Endearment." Every four hours she had to demand that he get his pain medication.
He is home now and recently returned to work but still in some pain.
I think that about catches you up on the family...See you next time I have calamities to report.
