It is amazing how small our world truly is. When reading Teacherwoman's post about her roller coaster ride with her dad so many years ago...I had a warm fuzzy. You see, she wrote about the roller coaster at Lake Winnepesaukah. The signs and advertisements all proclaim it to be "Chattanooga's amusement park"...WRONG. It actually sits inside the city limits of Fort Oglethorpe, GA. It is just few miles from my house and my grand girls and I enjoy picnics and rides there quite often. I have been going there since I was a little girl. Yep, the dinosaurs pulled the carts around the lake back then.
The roller coaster is a wonderful ride. No comparison to the wild and wooly rides at Bush Gardens, Dollywood or Six Flags...but a wonderful ride indeed! No visit to Lake Winnie is complete until your have raised your arms as the car clink-clink-clinks its way up the steep incline and you scream as it plumets downward at a very rapid speed and makes the impossible turn and goes up and down and up and down until it finally comes to a halt inside the covered platform. Then...you get in line to do it again!
So, for my friend Deb...
Mz Scarlett...a roller coaster junkie!
