I have been telling Ron since Kraymer was 7 that I need another dog for just in case. Yes we have Tucker, Ron's dog, but Tucker isn't mine. Kraymer is MY baby. Does that make sense? I love Tucker, but he's not "my" dog. So Ron kept putting me off saying that once we moved we could add a dog to the family. Well we have been trying to move out of the DC area for a few years now, and guess what? We haven't moved. I put my foot down and said we were getting another dog. Well, let me restate that, we discussed another dog, and agreed on fostering a pup. I feel the need to help the world sometimes, and my natural interest is all about the animals.
I Also applied to volunteer at Poplar Springs animal sanctuary. I have told Ron that when we move - and have LAND - that I want to help out by housing a few cows and pigs that have been saved. So, volunteering I'd be helping their facility out while learning how to care for these animals. I haven't heard back yet though.
I have some training classes starting in a week. I am a bit nervous but excited... Most of the people in the class will be friends of mine so that helps. I just know some of these dogs so I know some of the challenges - which is good I think so I can prepare. One loves to hump me when he sees me (even when I am trying to walk him!) another isn't motivated by anything in life that we have found, and another is 80% blind. Should be a learning experience! I just hope I don't flop.
Anywho - happy Wednesday peeps. I am hoping we get some good news on Hobbie. I know that his FB friends have helped him out by buying some paintings he put on sale, but if he needs more, I am willing to help out. Vet bills can be SO HIGH it's unreal, but I think our pets are worth every penny.
