A Minority Of One

Life & Events > Pieces ...

Pieces ...

First piece:
I would love to not ever hear anything from or about Mel Gibson again. In my book, the only good movie he ever made was BRAVEHEART, and that was full of non-factual events and timelines. For a man who professes to have found religion he has the foulest mouth in Hollywierd.

Second:
This morning we were behind a mild "cold" front, so the rank humidity has passed for a day and the temperature has dropped from the 90s into the high 80s. My gosh! That's a relief. Now, how can I get the humidity out of this house? I have three huge floor fans in windows and it doesn't seem to make a difference.

I see that so far this year this year is the hottest worldwide on record. It is a full degree F above the previous record. That is huge.

Third:
There is only the here and now. Forget the fact that after you exhausted the cash in your check account there were still seven bills to pay. Just so you don't run out of coffee, catfood, TP and Scotch. That's all that matters in the here and now.

Hollywood is never never land where the kooks and wierdos live. A pox on them all.

I was going to say the only Mel Gibson movie I liked was ___________, with Julia Roberts, but I'm drawing a blank on the title! (one word)
And hey, Mr. Author, no split infinitives (first sentence).
comment by solitaire on July 17, 2010 5:58 AM ()
I never do no split infinitives.

He has gone real queer ----just to big for his britches

Mel sells, but I do believe considering the scandals in Hollywood that he is targeted because he sells. I am SICK of hearing about his pending divorce. So, it is acrimonious. Divorces usually are. Remember our frigid winter when people made fun of the global warming thing? I don't know if that is what is causing it, but I sure know we have been subjected to some weather extremes.

And one more...
Sex and thoughts about sex have taken a back seat for me at my age. (Because that is exactly where it is most fun! LOL)

First: Half the actors in Hollywood are dopeheads, alcoholics, wife abusers, or adulterers. Why pick on Mel?

Second: Humidity is like a bad smell. It's a killer to get rid of.

Third: What about tobacco?

I'm with you on wifebeaters 100%.

I would never even be interested in another Mel G. movie because I detest wife beaters. And Yes! Tobacco!

We are so out of the news loop any more, it takes a lot of commotion about any given celeb to filter through to me. Company coming for lunch, I'm frying up a couple of chickens and resisting the urge to overdo on the number of side dishes.

I still like Mel Gibson but I am sick of hearing about his personal life. If we all were under a microscope it would be crazy...
The weather here is HOT. It's unbearable right now cuz our AC broke.
comment by kristilyn3 on July 16, 2010 7:52 AM ()
Yeah, Gibson has been a personal disappointment and totally at odds with his early persona that was so appealing. Carpe diem dear one.
comment by tealstar on July 16, 2010 7:26 AM ()
Never saw Braveheart and Gibson has been on my sh*& list ever since his homophobic rant at about the time that movie was released.

He is proof that you don't have to be a nice person or avoid being a total arsehole in order to succeed in business. Shame, though. I like to see fools like him fail.
