Today's experience was much more interesting than the last time I served in a different county. Down there you went to the waiting room and sat (and say, and sat). In Delaware county, the Commissioner of Jurors addressed the crowd at 9a.m. sharp, and by the time she was half finished with her spiel, I was looking forward to being selected to hear the case.
After a video about the jury system staring Bradley from 60 Minute, and what's-her-name, also from 60 Minutes, we were granted a bathroom break and asked to reconvene by 10:30. After less than a half-hour wait, punctuated by two announcements from the court officers, the judge entered the courtroom and with three sentences dismissed us. The attorneys settled the case.
This was the same boring situation I encountered last time, but this time it happened way before lunch. It was sunny and relatively pleasant, so I decided to walk home. Two miles, uphill, but my knee is still in pretty good shape after the last shot, so it was a pleasant walk.
Meanwhile, back at the castle: The Christmas decorations are up. I tried to take some pics before, but most of them didn't turn out. It was either too dark to get the effect of the lights, or too bright with flash to see the lights at all. I'll probably try again tomorrow.
We spent the time after the news watching a movie Donna rented from Netflix. Guess I should ask her the name of it... "Never Again" I stayed awake for it (except for a few seconds somewhere in the middle) and although I don't have anything to compare it to, I'd have do say that it was mildly entertaining (yes, she reads my blog).
So, we're home after four days away for TG and tomorrow will be business as usual. Hopefully I can finish up outside if it doesn't snow too much tonight. Everything that had fallen up until now melted over the weekend.
Here's a few Christmas pics, maybe I can do better tomorrow....
