Sitting around watching movies doesn't interest me in the least, but Donna signed us up for Netflix because we don't get HBO any longer. The Netflix plan we have is the most basic. For $4.99 (+tax)we get 2 movies each month delivered to the house, and 2 hours of instant access to select vids over the Internet.
It turns out that it's a good deal, and I found a few things that I wanted to watch, including a documentary on Tibet and the "Into Thin Air"--the ascent of Mt. Everest a few years back where several famous guides and climbers were killed on the face of the giant. Donna ordered the HBO series about John Adams, and Abe Lincoln will be in the mailbox when we get home tomorrow.
So, here's the scoop. Netflix has a friends and family offer. The new member (that would be you) gets a month free trial, and we get an extra two vids (or something). So if you've been thinking about trying Netflix, this is a good time. Send me an email and ask for a promo code. I have 4, and they have to be used by the end of October.
In other news... As for that "when we get home tomorrow" comment: We attended a wedding yesterday and haven't made it home yet. Donna's daughter got married (again). I feel the urge to make jokes (about spending their honeymoon job-hunting) that will get me in trouble, so I'll just say that they got married in a park at 10a.m. and nobody froze to death, not even the bride, who was wearing a sleeveless gown.
Tomorrow I'll be back to splitting wood. I left quite a pile last week. Me and my buddy cut 2 fuel tanks worth of wood and I broke the point off my wedge after I split three or four logs. Nobody knew that it was possible to break one of those things, so I didn't have a spare (but I do now). Hopefully I can get most of the wood done, and all the leaves raked before the snow flies. In Delaware county, that can happen before Halloween.
Be back tomorrow with "Recent Quips", have a good one!
