On the Back Road Again ...

The weather in the northeast has been unseasonably cold for the past few weeks. We should have highs in the upper thirties during the day and lows in the teens at night. I checked the weather channel page a few minutes ago to find out if the 9 below we had on Friday morning was a record, but it wasn't. So global climate change? Or perhaps a normal cycle simply enhanced a bit by the presence of our species?

Yesterday's high was 20, and I'm hoping today will be warm enough to get a hose on the truck and remove a ton of dirt. We had to be on the road yesterday, and we took the scenic route home. This is the first time I can remember the snow clinging to the trees like this four days after the event. Even around these parts, there's usually a slight warming spell after a storm--just enough to cause the snow and ice to fall from the trees.

The worst of winter is over now tho, since the sun is just too high in the afternoon sky for snow to escape the melting action of UV rays as they penetrate the clouds. Ah... Just a few more days! Anyway, I'm posting these pics here so I can come back in July and find them easily. The scenery will start to change soon.... Yup, very soon!!

Oh well.. I had one more pic, but an internal server error has put an end to this post. So, have a good day...

Hang on a little longer. We are supposed to warm up tomorrow and Monday and get rain.

I was hoping for that kind of snow earlier this year, but I'm sooooo ready for the sun and some warmth. We had a pretty day here, for a change. I even wore my flipflops and drove with the window down. Of course, we're supposed to get the winter weather again on Tuesday, but I'll take what I can get right now.

Looks a lot like here, John, but I do know you get much more snow than here. For a time in the Army, I was at Camp (Now "Fort") Drum, north of Syracuse. I know about the big time lake effect there. That winter we got snow up to the second story windows of some barracks. Nice skiing, though!
