Preoccupied

I thought that was funny when Jennifer showed it to me. There's some truth in it.
We've got new neighbors across the street and they are NOISY! This afternoon, they were grilling out and playing loud music. It contained the words "m***** f*****" and a phrase I won't even insinuate here. I was so upset by it that I turned around and give him a look and said, "Seriously???!! He got the message and turned it down a little. They're blaring music right now as I type. I called the police (non-emergency number) to find out what the ordinace is about loud music and they said there really isn't one, but that if the music was bothering me they would send out a car. Well, I just pulled up and so it would have been obvious that I was the one who called, especially after today's incident. The neighbors on either side of me are really decent people and I'm hoping they'll call the police one of these days without me having to get involved. I don't mean to make a racial issue out of it, but if the white guy is the one who calls the police, then that is exactly what they will think. If one of my neighbors does the calling, then it won't be a problem. Sofia has a hard enough time sleeping through the night without this added noise at all hours.
I've been too busy to blog and post pictures lately. Hopefully, things will slow down soon.
My dad enjoyed dinner with us Saturday at Zio's for Father's Day. My uncle who never had children asked me on Monday why we took him out to eat (my brother on Friday, Jenn and I on Saturday and Mom on Sunday). I said, "Father's Day" and he said, "Oh!". I guess he didn't remember about it since he didn't have anyone to remind him.
My dad went on Saturday to reposses the building that I was trying to reposses when the customer threatened my life. Dad said the customer was all apologetic about the trouble, but that he insisted that I had somehow threatened his wife. If you know me very well at all, you know that wasn't the case.
We repossesed a loafing shed in Choctaw today. In light of my recent experiences, I was not a little nervous about it. We hurried up and got it out before anyone could come around to stop us. It was 12x30, so it took a while.
I suppose I need to hit the sack. Long day tomorrow.

A picture of my uncle's pond. It has a pump that circulates the water through a waterfall type construction of rocks. It's beautiful with many large gold fish in it.

I doubt the fellow who made the insinuation knew it was your father he was talking to. What, if anything, did your father say? Or did he just let it pass because it was better left alone.

Better left alone. Top objective: get the building out before the customer starts making problems.

It's always something. Despite living in "the country", I hear barking dogs all night. And gun shots. Ugh. And I didn't realize you were pastoring now.

Yep, since September of last year.

It's not for retaliation. It's just so I can focus on some pleasant sounds.
I'd have to get up at 4:30am to beat her. She lets the dogs out at 5am.

I LOVE IT!
Today I'm going to buy a boom box so I can sit outside and listen to my music instead of the #%&*^$ pack of dogs next door (Yes, after saying no more, she went out and got more bloody dogs), lawn mowers, weed whackers, chain saws, diesel truck engines, neighbours screaming kids/grandkids, hammering, etc, etc...

You definitely need a boom box!! And some sub-woofers and whatever else they sell at those places. Rattle her windows. Rise early and wake her up.

What 'they' call 'music' makes me want to go deaf. Your pic is funny. They visited me Sunday! In 95 F heat!

They are indomitable! And, yes, what a lot of people call music these days boggles my mind. It's mostly trash.

That is a beautiful pond. Next time it happens call the police...racial
incident or no. They patrol constantly around here and are very helpful. It
reminds me of the old saying, "Idle Hands are the Devil's workshop."

I will call them, just not after I have just driven up in my driveway. They don't need to know it was me.

The pond looks great--tell your uncle I approve! :O)
Funny but I live in an apartment building and never see let alone hear a neighbor--lucky me!
Don't know if I could be in the repossing business--certainly doesn't sound like fun!
Even if it is a long day have a good one!

Fortunately, we're gone a lot...

There isn't a lot of humor listening to the firemen on the radio, but the other day they were talking about a pond they were going to pump water out of to use on the big fire, and one of them said "I hope there aren't any valuable koi in that pond." Made me wonder if maybe there are some up there somewhere and they previously got in trouble for messing with the fish.

They really can't be held responsible for that, can they? They are doing such an important job.
