Checking In

Sorry guys, but we've been crazy busy. This week we executed a Kid's Crusade at church and I've been working with my dad. Also, we've been doing some light traveling to the various churches that supported our work in Mexico when we were there.

The garden is looking great, except for the zucchini squash I foolishly tried to transplant, as it was encroaching upon my pepper plants. The cilantro hasn't grown at all, in fact, it looks smaller than it did when I bought it. Everything else seems to be growing and blooming just fine. Tomatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, peppers, squash, even watermelon and cantaloupe!

I'll be working all day with dad today and Jenn's going to a baby shower for another girl in our church. The funny thing about this church is that even the men go to the baby showers. I've never heard of such, but it is what it is. I've never been to one in my life. Fortunately, dad's work schedule saved me from this one! LOL

Cheerio, dear MyBloggers friends. Life is good, even with it's warts and pimples. See ya 'round.

Man, I can't get rid of cilantro! I let it go to seed (then called coriander) for the following year, and it goes crazy! I didn't know it was possible to kill zucchini! Fun to read about your garden. Great hobby, eh?

Fortunately the zucchini squash is actually making a comeback. It's a survivor. I'm afraid the city is going to start rationing water. Then I don't know what I'll do about my garden.

I was trying to picture the execution of the kids - hanging? firing squad? Don't mind me, just giving you a hard time. Jenn is building up points for when someone puts on a baby shower for her.

She's already gotten so much stuff it's unreal. As for the execution of the kids, let's just say it wasn't pretty.

I have been to a couple of baby showers that the men attended; but most are women only.

Some of them were there on Saturday but they went upstairs to the office until it was over.

I grow cilantro in a pot on my window sill--grows like crazy!!! Now doesn't that NOT make you feel better?

I'm going to steal your idea. Thank you!

Don't fertilize Cilantro. If it has too much sun try shading the plant.

See my reply below to Jeri. I think it's getting way too much sun, although the tip said, full sun.

I hesitate to tell you this but cilantro is a big failure in this climate.
At least for me.. You have a really great garden.

I might do what martin said and transplant to a pot inside the house. I've been wanting to bake you some butter milk bread.
