A group of us at my college gathered to watch the 2012 election coverage last night at the UWM student lounge. We were all there to support our chosen candidate and just have a good time. One of my friends had drawn the US map, outlining all the individual states and supplied blue and red markers to fill in appropriate wins for each candidate as the evening progressed. There were more Obama supporters at this gathering which was expected since Milwaukee is known to be a rather liberal city, but those living in outlining counties definitely were rooting for a Romney win. It was an exciting night!
Here I am with my friend Jay and the girl in charge of coloring in the map. I thought she did an awesome job!
Now that the election is over, I have high hopes for President Obama's 2nd term in office. He's got a lot to accomplish (and fix) in the next 4 years. I definitely wouldn't want to be in his position.
While I was in the hospital, I happened to catch an episode of this cable show which I've become totally obsessed over. It's called Duck Dynasty. It's about the Robertsons, a Louisiana bayou family that started a homegrown duck call business from the ground up. This show had me rolling with laughter...especially Uncle Si, the 70 year old Vietnam Vet who likes to blow things up. Everything about this family is great. The husbands all look like ZZ Top rejects, but their wives are all so normal looking. Too funny. Here's a clip of Uncle Si:
I better get back to studying.
