8 Random Things About Me (From Hopefields)
1). I'm a loner. I'm happy that way. No one to answer to, no one to cause me grief, no one to be responsible for, no one to owe explanations to. Everything that happens is pretty much my own doing and I don't have to blame anyone else.
2). I'm loosing my hair. When I was younger, my hair was so thick, it looked like there was a muskrat on my head. Now, I pick tons of it off the comb, out of the drain, and from my pillow. I look in the mirror and see scalp beginning to peak through. My beautician sez its just a natural thing that occurs with age and certain medications. I am practicing my comb-over technique.
3). The last movie I watched was "Attonement". There were too many flashbacks and I was confused. But I did know that the male lead character would end up the way he did. (won't go into detail so as not to spoil it for those who haven't seen it and wish to.) I would give my left boob to live in a house like that.
4). I finally got 'round to re-potting the plant I have been fighting to keep alive. So far, its working and it seems to like the new potting soil its in. I think its even getting taller.
5). I wear size 11 (men's) shoes. I have extremely wide feet and they don't make women's shoes off the rack that fit me comfortably. Needless to say, I haven't worn heels in an extended period of time....since my friend's brother's wedding in '98.
6). I have a triangle shaped birthmark on the left side of my stomach. It's light brown with darker brown spots and is about an inch and a half in diameter. My nephew, Bubba Jr. , has one in about the same place and the same general shape and appearence. Go figure.
7). I love the smell of freshly mowed grass...or is that mown grass? Anyway, Cletus came up yesterday and gave the lawn its first spring clip and it smelled devine, harkening back carefree summer days, cookouts, and cooling off with the garden hose on sweltering afternoons.
8). I yearn daily to be back in the Flower City by the Lake. For so many reasons, I cannot return but that doesn't stop the longing. Talking to, IMing and e.mailing friends who still live there only makes it worse but I don't stop doing it. Human beings are soooo moronic, aren't they?
