Good Weekend, Blog Pals:
Well, this is the next to the last day I will spend here in my little home. The place sure looks bare with most of the furniture and knick knacks gone. Monday I will haul the last of it out and clean this place. Hopefully, Maybelleen will find it in her cheap, tightfisted little heart to return at least a portion of my deposit. I will not hold my breath for this event. In my entire life, I have never had a deposit returned. I've tried to leave the places where I've lived in the same condition that I found them but somehow I always fall short in the landlords eyes. Ah, well.
So, now the neighbors. The shit has really hit the fan there. Turns out Numbnut Boyfriend was a wanted fugitive. They had his mug shot plastered all over the local news and described him as "dangerous". Jesus....a dangerous criminal living not 20 feet from my front door. And, before I knew who and what he was, I actually let those two in my house to use my phone. The thought of that scared ten years of of my life that I can't spare lemme tell ya. Cletus assured me that he'd ran a backround check on Numbnut and it came up clean. According to Sgt. Crotchrot of the Devil's Asshole P.D, who called up to question me a number of times, the guy has a record a mile long. Someone is being less than forthcoming. Well, yesterday Numbnut was captured. They found him hiding out at his parents house. His parents, according to the P.D. own a bar in a nearby town...which explains a lot. Now you have to ask yourself what kind of a total moron thinks "Wow, I'll hide out at my parent's house. They'll never think if looking for me there." But anyhoo, he's languishing in the hoosgow now, according to news reports, and is awaiting further trial. I knew something was seriously wrong with this guy when I saw that he had shaved his head and had tatoos on his scalp.
Everything that has happened lately only points to the fact that I am making the correct decision to get the hell out of here. I have been shot at, flashed, harrased by crazy people and been exposed to a dangerous felon. Even if I were not heading west, I'd have to move at any rate. I can't live where the landlords don't care who they rent to. Their desire to get the fast buck is going to come back and bite them on the ass, I predict. But all is quiet now. The girlfriend is laying low and keeping quiet and that's fine with me. I have two more days to stay here. Maybe I can enjoy it for a change.
You might not here from me until I get to Cow Snot as the phone/cable is scheduled to be shut off on Monday. I'll spend Tues night at Mama's (now there's a thrill to look forward to) then I'm off for the wild and wolly west on Wednesday. Can't wait to tell y'all of my new adventures.
