Good Saturday, MyBloggerstown:
A listless Saturday afternoon is upon me. I have taken my nap, watched "Love is a Many Splendored Thing(starring Jennifer Jones and Willam Holden) for the 500th time and wept all the way through it like I always do. This is one of those tear jerker romances where the water works start when the theme song begins. At one point in the film, William Holden drops Jennifer Jones off after a date then calls her later to say goodnight. When Mr. Bugg and I first started running around together he would do that. Well, that tender little scene really started Niagara Falls. It's been almost 13 years since Mr. Bugg passed (in fact, the 27th of this month will be the aniversary of his death) and I can't seem to stop weeping about him. I wonder if I ever shall.
We are having bingo tonight downstairs. They play for prizes and a gift card from Wally-World. I have yet to win the gift card but I have won a set of pot holders, a candy dish, a pair of teflon tongs and some corn pads. Lady Luck has surely smiled on me.
The kids are planning a birthday bash for my sis-in-law tomorrow. Her birthday was Wednesday but since everyone had to work we are celebrating on Sunday. My nieces Lulu Belle and Jethrene (her daughters) said they would handle the whole shootin' match so we shall see. These two are not terribly domestic and their culinary skills leave a little to be desired. But they are making an effort and should be commended. That reminds me, I need to check on my Tums suppy.
We had a ferocious storm here a coupla days ago with marble size hail. It put a few pings in the hood of the Redneckmobile but with all of the other dents and so forth it was hard to tell. Many autos, roofs, trees etc. were damaged. This is indeed the strangest climate I've ever been in . It's sunny and hot now and I am sitting here with all fans on wearing nothing but my drawers. I know this is a mental picture none of you want stuck in your head but I gotta tell it like it is. I think the heat is making my usual insomnia worse as I am awake nearly every night tossing and turning, constantly flipping the pillow over to get to the cool side. Finally, I give up and go and sit in the recliner and read. I fall asleep soon thereafter. As Sir Michael (Mick) Jagger once said, what a drag it is getting old.
Well, wish me luck in the bingo game. Have a good week, everyone.
