Sunday in Fort Lauderdale Part 2 Karen Bay

I
love spending time at The Point which juts out into Karen Bay at the
end of our property. Today, even with the temps in the high 80s (with a
'feel like 99 degrees") there is that cool breeze cutting across The
Point, breezy enough that it is difficult reading Sunday's paper.

During
the day I sit there , read newspapers, magazines, books, while looking
at passing boats, feeling the sun on my body and now and then conversing
with a neighbor passing by.

At
night it is another story as The Point is dark except for the nights it
is lit by a full moon and now is that time. The stars sparkle playing
hide and seek in the clouds and the city lights across the bay look like
large diamonds.

It
is a time to sit, reflect, think of others, reminisce about the good
things from the past and people who have been, or are, in your life.

This
afternoon I spent about an hour and a half there just taking a picture
now and then as boats passed by. There were a group of kids taking turns
on on a rubber raft being pulled behind a boat. There was a guy walking
on water and flying above it in a jet pack and there was a school of
fish along the side of a yacht

These
were people who, if only for an afternooon, forgot about the economic
crises, unemployment, mortgage payments, the world outside of boats,
water, sun, wind and relaxation.

WARMING: THEORY SHARED BY 99 PERCENT OF THE WORLD'S SCIENTISTS THAT MAN
MADE POLLUTION IS WARMING THE EART'S ATMOSPHERE. EASILY DISCREDITED BY

It's so nice that you have a good view spot right there where you live. There is something about water - it seems like there is always something to watch even when it's just sitting there with the sunlight playing across it.

It's Mother Nature and just how perfectly she combines everything! I see the same thing in a lot of your pictures!

I think about the time I spent in Maine, just sitting on the sun warmed rocks. I watched the tide come in and go out, and I didn't have a thought about anything (or anyone) that wasn't in my immediate view

That's such a great feeling--as if you own and control the whole world around you--then a mosquito bites you!

I used to hang out by the East river a few blocks about the 59st bridge... 40 years ago... geez... I feel like a geezer... But it's probably similar to your point, although there were lights along the river...

I use to swim in the east river in the early 1950s when the word pollution wasn't known yet!!!
