I love spending time at The Point which juts out into Karen Bay at the end of our property. Today, even with the temps in the high 80s (with a 'feel like 99 degrees") there is that cool breeze cutting across The Point, breezy enough that it is difficult reading Sunday's paper. During the day I sit there , read newspapers, magazines, books, while looking at passing boats, feeling the sun on my body and now and then conversing with a neighbor passing by. At night it is another story as The Point is dark except for the nights it is lit by a full moon and now is that time. The stars sparkle playing hide and seek in the clouds and the city lights across the bay look like large diamonds. It is a time to sit, reflect, think of others, reminisce about the good things from the past and people who have been, or are, in your life. This afternoon I spent about an hour and a half there just taking a picture now and then as boats passed by. There were a group of kids taking turns on on a rubber raft being pulled behind a boat. There was a guy walking on water and flying above it in a jet pack and there was a school of fish along the side of a yacht These were people who, if only for an afternooon, forgot about the economic crises, unemployment, mortgage payments, the world outside of boats, water, sun, wind and relaxation. ************************************************** HOW TO SPEAK REPUBLICAN BY PETE KOTZ "GLOBAL |
