A Quick Personal Question

I had a cat scan on Monday--I am now have been asked to take a 'contrast' cat scan after blood work.
I
did make a mistake by googling a contrast cat scan and reading the
comments!!! Has anyone had an experience with this (I think I did many
years ago before the heart problem) and what was your experiience?

there are two kinds --one drinking a litre in an hour and being scanned ----another is a bit easier--- when lying down they inject a substance? into you that shows up your veins --- good for heart patient diagnostics , there is another that I had to check bone density, where they injected some radiation fluid in and had deep scan . Last time I was in the hospital with pancreatitis my roommate had the contrast CAT. It was a lot of fluid to drink, but he had no complaints. Now on the other hand, I had an upper GI series some time ago and had to duck into a cemetery on the way home. Some of these tests should come with travel warnings.

I had the one where you had to drink the stuff before hand. I had no problems whatsoever! and the stuff was not that bad to drink.

Best of luck, I'm sure it will be fine, but we'll be thinking of you and waiting to hear how it went.

I had a slight allergic reaction to one of those years ago, but had another one years later and it was fine.

Supposedly will have it done on Tuesday--go in for blood work tomorrow and see my vascular surgeon for the results from my scan last week--so much fun being old!!!
