The
only reason for one star would be because of the service though even
there a big boner, in my opinion, took place. It was a small thing, but
expensive, as Allen ordered a coke which came in a, maybe, 8 ounce glass
and was filled with ice, costing $2. Later the server asked if he would
like a refill and he said yes and she did, filling the glass with as
much ice, again, as she could get into the glass. When we got the bill
there was a charge for $4. I inquired about it and was told that they
charge for refills and that it was in the menu. When was the last time,
in a so called 'better' restaurant, have they charged you for refills
for a coke or did you even bother to look at the menu regarding same? By
the way I wasn't charged for a refill of coffee.
That was sort of
the sugar substitute on a tofu dessert as the meal itself from beginning
to end was bad with the sliced bread being stale, the Wiener Schnitzel
was so dry that I felt I was eating cardboard, the red cabbage was room
temperature though Allen's potato salad was good. I know because I ate
it.
For a lunch that cost $26.40 it was very disappointing. Even more
disappointing was that the Old Heidelberg restaurant was one of those
reliable places. Maybe, just maybe, charging $4 for 6 ounces of cola
really annoyed me more than I thought it did!
