There is a web page called nextdoor.com and you can get your own local area--in ours there isn't a day goes by that at least 3-4 people have the same story---yours! There are also cats and dogs missing or ran away or worse--a kid drowns in a swimming pool or dies in an overheated car. You say all you want--warn people all you want but we are people and still and will always do dumb things!
I love the computer UNTIL something goes wrong!!! It's not like in the old days when something went wrong with a TV or radio you just hit and it straightened out!!

My brother, when we were much younger, was becoming a doctor and worked in a mental institution as part of his training--he told us some horrible stories and because of what he saw he dropped out of medical school and instead went into social work and got involved in political reforms.
Sadly with the way things are today most mental patients were dumped out into the streets a few years ago and make up a big part of the homeless population.
Good luck on your 'new' major but I am still trying to wrap my head around how one leads to another unless you wanted something completely different. You talk about 'old relic'--just curious--any other old relics in your classes???
I have a full salad with my dinner meal every night starting with a whole head of lettuce or Romaine--add tomatoes, onions, mushrooms along with 'this 'n that' plus various dressings.
