Miscellaneous: Blushing, Goofing and More

Okay, go ahead and laugh--I don't
mind!

At
least I can still blush {#basic-blush.gif}

Allen and I got to Miami to see "In The Heights" and
after picking up our tickets, as I was walking away. I said to Charlotte, "Be
seeing you again tomorrow, "  and she responded, "Not tomorrow, Thursday." After
a little discussion I decided she was right--heck, she is the one that gives me
the tickets!!
I could just see us showing up at the
BPAC tomorrow, not seeing Charlotte,
and running around like a chicken without its head insisting that I was suppose
to see the show and waving my invitation around--I always take it with me--only
to be completely embarrassed  when someone points at the date of it where it
says March 31!

Oh well no harm done

Looks like they are
finally laying down the law at Gateway regarding no smoking. They have put up
signs all over with "NO SMOKING", sent out letters to smokers that they are not
allowed to smoke in their own apartments and that there are now designated areas
for smokers. One is right behind my building and I must admit it a beautiful
area. There is a bench overlooking the canal that is filled with boast and
across the way million dollar plus homes--almost makes me want to smoke again!
NOT! I did make a suggestion to a few other smokers and
that is to just take the sign up and plant it wherever they want to smoke
--that's how my warped mind works.

With all that's going on I am falling behind in restaurant
reviews which I will hopefully get caught up on this weekend. Coming: China A,
The Riverside Market Cafe.

Last night it was "in The Heights" and I have to
write that review tonight and send it to Corine and tomorrow it is "Wicked"--yes
the invitation says MARCH 31!!!

I, usually, don't get
political but the blogger Nobullthinker keeps on saying that the Tea
party is  a 'grass roots movement", without leaders or a political platform and
yet I read things like this constantly, "The influential Tea Party Patriots
group plans to stage a rally Thursday at the Capitol. 'We think we should push
for $90 billion in cuts, ' said Mark Meckler, co-founder of Tea Party
Patriots."  Okay NBT does that sound
like 'grass roots'? Or a political party?

And from the book Maria sent
me:

"If a man does not make new
acquaintances

as he advances through life,

he will soon find himself
alone.

A man, sir, should keep his
friendship

in constant repair."

Dr. Samuel Johnson, 1709-1784  English
Lexicographer, Critic and Essayist

The Tea Partiers are on my Fringe Factor list. Not political? Please keep debunking that myth.
By the way, I smoke and I do not leave butts every where. When no ashtrays are available, I field strip and put the butts in my pocket until I see a trash can.

I hope the smokers will respect the beauty of that spot and not flick their butts all over the ground and into the water. But so far my experience with smokers is they think nature is just one big ashtray.

As and ex-smoker I never felt that way. There is an ashtray--just hope they use it!

Like you said, no harm done. It's those near-misses that get our adrenaline pumping.
