In
all probability I will be ostracized from the movie world because,
without hesitation, I am stating that the last chapter in the Harry
Potter saga is a bore! It is all special effects , fire , explosions, a fire throwing dragon, a large slithering snake of the villain, lightening from wands, fingers, the sky, the ocean along with people being
shattered to bits and pieces which are all perfect for a theme park but
not for a film and after the first few action sequences it was all repetitious.
The story that is left is a combination of "High Noon" and "Gunfight At OK Corral" only here it is wands instead of guns with Voldemort versus Potter. Is it a secret anymore who won? It really didn't matter
to me. Without having read the novels and having only seen 2-3 of the
movies a person will have a hard time following some of this concluding
film in the series but, basically, it is an old fashioned western and I
don't care for westerns.
The 'kids'; Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson have grown up in front of the film audience and are now
on their way in other directions but it is the adults; Ralph Fiennes, Alan Rickman and Maggie Smith who are the stars of this last chapter.
This
film will add many more millions to the billions the Harry Potter epics
have earned and the books have made readers of many people, especially
young adults, so my nay-saying won't change a thing.
