Fusion Pizza---restaurant Review

It's
been about 2 years since I have been to the Fusion Pizza restaurant.
Though their heart is in the right place I find them to be expensive and
not really worth the money taste wise. I had a buy '1 specialty pizza
and get 1 cheese pizza the same size free. Without the coupon the bill
would have been $38 including a $6 tip for the 2 pizzas and 2 sodas
which is a bit much. The one change, which I did like, since I was last
there is that they now have a server whereas before you had to order at
the counter.

If you go to their web site---www .fusionpizza .com--you will see  what their 'gimmick' is and it is a noble one. Here is some of what they say:
"!
From our concern for the environment to our concern for your health,
Pizza Fusion is not your typical restaurant or business, for that
matter. Michael Gordon and Vaughan Lazar, co-founders of Pizza Fusion,
stepped outside the boundaries of the traditional business model to
create an organization built around integrity.

For
every decision there is a right way and a wrong way to approach things.
Pizza Fusion operates on the belief that social responsibility is just
as important as profitability. Where some businesses cut corners for
their own benefit, Pizza Fusion goes the extra mile to do the best thing
for everyone – the customer, the environment, the employee and the
business owner.

For instance, instead of
using conventional ingredients that are cheaper to purchase and
unhealthy for the customer, we pay a little more to use quality organic
ingredients that are both healthier and tastier. Another example is our
gluten-free offerings, including pizza, brownies and beer, that enable
our friends with celiac disease to indulge at Pizza Fusion.

Furthermore,
our detailed approach to sustainable business, unfortunately, has made
us a unique restaurant concept. We didn’t go the eco-friendly route to
hop on the ‘green’ bandwagon. We chose to because it was the right thing to do. We find it sad that this approach separates us from other
businesses. We believe that if every organization operated at the level
of integrity that we strive for, the world would be a better place."

We
started off with the 'Original Pepperoni" which I found to be too oily
and then had the 'Original Cheese" which was good. Both had a (too)
thin, crispy crust--which I don't care for but that didn't stop me from
eating it.

Allen
had a diet (of course) root beer soda and I had a diet (of course)
cream soda. I just can't get use to being charged $2.50 for a 12 ounce
bottle of soda!

All
in all it was okay and we did want something different but I prefer Big
Louie's pizza--thick, juicy and old fashioned Italian food--like pizza
should taste like!

In all it will probably be another 2 years and a coupon before I go back there! LOL

He would have glad to do this for you.But you mentioned that you didn/t think so .He wanted to cook for you and not sure what happened to this.
Maybe next time if we are still around can do this for you and I know that he will be glad to do it.Believe me.

No Louie? There is a segment on NPR today with a guy who wrote a book about "Brandwashint". This is an excellent example of how businesses are made to feel "friendly" and welcoming.

So why when you were here did he buy pizza for us to eat instead of his making one?????

Let's see, Big Louie's, Pizza Fusion? Yup, Big Louie's just based on the name. I certainly wouldn't pay 38 bucks for pizza. Say hi to Louie!

I worked there for 3 years--great job---shhhhh--don't tell anyone but there was no Louie!

I have always found that pizzas made by any chain tend to be like cardboard and not nearly as good as a local pizzaria can put out. Sadly, those chains are always as expensive as you describe. The locals are not only better, but more affordable.

That's why I love Big Louie's where I use to work--they are one of the very few restaurants I ever went back to after I stopped working there--I love their pizza and garlic sticks!!!!
