Day at the Beach & Lunch at Lulu's Shack

There
are many reasons why I love living in South Florida and among them are
the sun, sand, ocean and beach. Last Sunday Allen gave me a call and
said, "Let's go to the beach," and a half hour later we were on our way.

It
was a perfect day for the beach with the sun shining, a breeze and not
too crowded. We started by going to Beach Place, which is a shopping
complex with restaurants, over looking the beach.

We
started off by having lunch at Lulu's Shack sitting at a table right by
the open window. After that we walked on the beach and along A1A. Next
time we will bring the bathing suits!

LULU'S SHACK--A RESTAURANT REVIEW

Lulu's
Shack aims for an 'old Florida' look and feel succeeding at both. Their
menu runs all over the place but leans to Cajun dishes along with fish
plates, French Quarter sandwiches, Borbon Street entrees, salads, soups
and Cajun specialties.

Allen had his
iced tea ($2) and I had coffee ($2). He ordered fish and chips ($9.95)
which is what he usually orders when he comes here and I had the Cajun
tour ($10.95) consisting of crawfish etoufee, jambalaya and red beans
and rice with shrimp gumbo. All served in one sectioned plate . The food
was spicy and tasty. The total check,  with tax and tip, came to $32

There
is nothing special about Lulu's but it is convenient to the beach,
reasonably priced, food is tasty and the interior certainly gives you
the relaxed feeling of being a tourist spending a day on the beach.

There
are a few other restaurants, such as Hooter's, at Beach Place but
Lulu's Shack offers that "Florida" feel you want when spending a day at
the beach.
