In
1964 I worked at the New York World's Fair in the Gas Pavillion where
we cooked everything tableside on a gas cart and made fresh salads. I
became a pro at making Caesar salad from scratch and many guests asked
for me just for that. It would also help me get hired to work at the 5
star 4 Seasons restaurant in Manhattan.
On July 5th
Anacoana posted a multi subject blog which had pictures of growing
Romaine lettuce in the house and it rang a bell in my head (well aside
from the many other noises I hear there!) I googled it and it was as
easy as it looked. This is the blog

I
usually buy 2 packages of Romaine every week--it is known as one of the
healthiest food in the world due to its nutriental value plus the
texture of the leaves adds a crisp bite to each taste. (For more

Well
I looked at the package, looked at the 3 tall heads (?) and decided why
not after I made a sald one evening. After a week of eating Romaine
lettuce I have 6 heads growing around the kitchen--I have never learned
moderation!!! I am going to wait a couple of weeks and see how these
turn out and will let you know.
With turnips and beets
(hopefully) growing on the walkway and Romaine lettuce in the kitchen I
may open my own vegetable stand!!!! LOL
