This morning I first woke up at 6 a.m. and then I unlocked the doors in case I was asleep when the kids came back at 9 before their father went to work.
So I hear "Happy Mother's Day" and I opened my eyes to the kids standing in front of me with a card and flowers. It really got me in a good mood right off the bat. It didn't matter that Mother's Day came a day early for me. I'm very thankful that my ex took the extra step to be sure I had a gift from the kids.
Between that and still being on a high from last night, I no longer wanted to sleep but jumped out of the bed with a smile. My daughter's friend Kim was over and it's a long story but we'll just say that she feels like I'm her Mom too. She said "I need a hug". I asked them if they'd all like to go out to a "Mother's Day" breakfast and they were happy to. We stopped at a specialized book and toy shop just to browse and then had breakfast together. Lastly we went to the dollar store where the girls got crafts and my son picked out a couple of things.
It's a beautifully, sunny Saturday and all is right with my world. What a blessing.
I wish this kind of morning for all of you!
