Whine

Oh, I am so sore that after dinner I just pass out and watch
a movie. I have aches in places that I didn't know I had.
However I am almost finished with the putting back and
tossing out.

Speaking of tossing out, I had a strange experience yesterday. I put an old victorian table out on the curb
that was missing two of it's feet. I would have saved it
to make a shelf but Ted dissed the idea and since he would
have had to make the shelf I let him win. This woman knocked on the door and asked if she could have it and I
said yes. Then she came back and asked if I had the feet
and Ted invited her in. Big mistake. I thought we would
never get rid of her and she left her phone number. Ellie
was picking up the kids at the time and it disturbed both
of us. Next time I will put up a sign that says free, as is.

I intended to write a serious post. While I was putting
books back in the bookcase, I read a passage now and again.
One of them was written about the time of the Declaration
of Independence. Re-issued of course and there were several
passages very appropriate to today. Maybe next time.

On occasion, I manage to get a Hereford village called Hay-on-Wye. It is a village of 'Book shops'! Antiquarian books at that . . . I am in my element!
There are shelves full of such fascinating ages! You can go into just one, and spend half a morning merely picking up various volumes and just browse through it - there are the 'massive' old family bibles which are leather bound and sometimes with small 'lock and key' fastenings. Fantastic day out!

does memory foam pillow works for the neck pain?

Yes, the woman told us she had moved here from Oregon to be with her
mother and Dad and that she was accumulating stuff for her apartment. We
didn't have the feet. am earlier dog, Muffin, had chewed them off. I wanted to salvage the carving but Ted said no. I will do the hot bath.
We got memory foam pillows and it has cured the neck aches. Hope you
are feeling much better.

Most of the books I read were written many decades ago, and it's amazing and a little bit reassuring to me to discover through this vintage literature that our current divided political climate is nothing new. But I still wish it didn't have to be like this.

Yes, it is reassuring to know that we are all a little bit crazy about politics and always have been.

I wanted to but Ted was adamant.

How strange to invite her in... I don't think I would ever invite a stranger in, but that might be because I watch to many scary tv shows! Sorry you are sore. Can you take it easy today?

We thought it was and I would rather he didn't do it anymore.

When prepping for my house sale on the coast I set out lots of stuff. Salvation Army picked up about half. Wouldn't touch some stuff. At the curb I had among others a table with a few scratches on the top. Nice table, about 4' across, square. A woman came to the door and said that if I would repair the scratches she would take it. I said it was free and had no intention of repairing a freeby so she could take it as is. She turned and left. Some hubris, eh?

I have an old spanish bedside table that I am going to set out. Definitely
as is. Habitat for Humanity will take almost anything for their store. Odd
how your lady expected so much.

Your self-invitee sounds lonely. So, did you have the feet? I am wondering about the quality of the table and if it was nice enough to salvage for something because Victorian carving is not done anymore. Try a warm bath with Epsom salts for the aches and pains -- very soothing.
