Update on Nothing

The days just fly by and I seem to get little accomplished the the house or in the garden. I need to get 9 pots of mums into the ground for next year and I have gotten very lazy. Cold weather has that effect on me.

I thought I had the flu and it turned out to be an acute sinus infection. The body aches were so severe that I just knew it had to be the flu since I won't get my flu shot until the 29th. The silver lining was that Linda, my daughter nagged me until I promised to find an urgent care center near my house and I got a prescription that really made me feel better fast.

Two of my friends are having a Thanksgiving come and go party with deep fried turkey. I wish they would wait until Christmas because I will not miss our family Thanksgiving. My cousin from California will be here and after Thanksgiving we are taking a weekend trip with my sister, My cousin and Ted and I. It will be fun. we are going to Branson.

We are using the fireplace a lot and it seems to be a big help against the winter doldrums.

It isn't cold enough here for me to start thinking about Thanksgiving dinner, maybe the Food Network will have some shows that can inspire me.

Thanks lady! I will try to pay attention. And I had to laugh about the bent on suicide comment. SO TRUE!!!

I remember it all and all the accidents curious toddler's have. I think boys are especially inventive.

I haven't tried deep fried turkey yet, and I certainly woun't be cooking it myself. Maybe someday! Stay warm.

I think it sounds awful but I usually smoke turkey breasts for the holidays. It cannot be good for you.

Cold weather changes a lot of things, doesn't it? It comes so suddenly, too. I'm now sneezing at the change in temperature and I pulled out all my blankets. Good to hear you get nagged to take care of yourself, and it worked out.

My daughter is very wise about health matters. I was certainly glad she motivated me to find an urgent care center that takes my health insurance.

Thanksgiving plans are in the works. I am planning to be with my family in the Chicago area. We are have such fun getting inspired by menu options and choosing recipes. I always arrive several days ahead to help with cooking and baking --- such fun!

That sounds like our Thanksgivings. All family comes and brings their most spectacular dishes. Then everyone takes home gobs of food so it all disappears.

There are houses on our island with fireplaces, but they are rarely used because ospreys nest in the chimneys. It is illegal to mess with osprey nests. We do get cold snaps but if they last too long, manatees and dolphins die. Enjoy your Thanksgiving.

I am all for Florida and it's islands staying warm. The dolphins and the manatees and the orange trees need it. How interesting that ospreys nest in chimneys. We have to have the chimneys cleaned every year to get rid of nests. and we screen them. Might be a thought..

Fireplace = cozy and comfy!!! I miss ours actually. We covered it up to make it childproof when the kiddos were smaller.
My friend gave me a pot of mums. I am supposed to plant them? I am so dense when it comes to plants

I understand about the fireplace. The first few years of a toddler's life they seem bent on suicide and it calls for hyper vigilant children.
Yes, when your mums finish blooming, cut them back and plant inthe ground. They have a good chance of surviving.
