Inviting Friends and the Watchman

I have invited Karen Meka to join us. She is the sister of our deceased dogsalot, Laurie Meka Fallon. I hope she does because I think she needs us and she is very intelligent and would be a good contributor. She has single handedly raised orphan ducklings that gathered in her yard. No, they did not imprint on her but regularly come to visit her now that they can live independently.

Our Laura, Ms. Troutbend is a fund of knowledge and I would like to thank her for fund of recipes. I had been hunting for ages for a quickbread called Bishop's Bread that my mother used to make and Laura sent it to me. It is now in the oven baking for our breakfast.

My thanks also go to Eddie for giving us this site and trying to encourage it to become more diverse and to grow. I love it and would miss it dreadfully if it were gone.

A friend of mine is into horoscopes and cast mine. There were no
surprises other than that I am a typical Aries with Gemini in my first house. Perhaps that is why I embrace change and no, I am not a believer.

Yesterday was really a full one. Jose had a heartworm shot, Ted and I got flu shots, I had a doctors appointment and I got sorted at the bank. The flu shot left me with a sore arm but I am so relieved to finally have it done.

Boston Scientific has come out with a device called the Watchman that makes blood thinners unnecessary. I am sending some of the literature to my cardiologist. My doctors had not heard of it. I think the blood thinners deplete your energy and I have barely enough as it is. If you are on them, google the watchman.

Kevin, you are wise not to drive. If you go camping take someone with you.

Goofed, see my comment above.

Kristy, my neighbor, who fosters dogs has the most adorable puppy. It is a Pom mix like Jose and actually looks like him but it acts like a Jack Russel Terrier. It is so full of energy and is constantly springing around and jumping. I would like to have it but think it needs young parents.

Is it me, or does "sorted at the bank" need some sort of explanation!

I think it is you. I have several accounts...my slush fund for home repairs and new appliances, regular checking that our bills are deducted from and a trust account and savings account. I make a lot of transfers from one to the other. It makes sense to me but Ted doesn't understand it either.

I really hope she joins. She sounds like another animal lover, which is great.

She is sweet. Life has left her with little trust in human beings. She needs us.

I have had interactions with Karen on Facebook ... we agree about a lot. I hope she joins us. I won't take baby aspirin as a blood thinner because i get huge bruises and I am afraid of a blood clot. Instead I take turmeric capsules -- same result, no bruising. But I will look into the watchman. I won't get flu or pneumonia shots because my mom, whom I take after biologically, would always get really sick when she had a flu shot. When she stopped getting them, she didn't get sick any more.

From the literature that I have about the watchman, it prevents strokes. It sounds good to me and I sent what I have to my cardiologist with a cover letter explaining why I wanted the procedure. If he disagrees, I will find another doctor. I was shocked that they were not up to date. I hope Karen Meka joins us. I noticed that you interact with her on facebook also.
