Tax Time ... ... .Help

I had trouble thinking of a title for this article, so I will explain.

I know that we live in a small rural community and that not everyone get the information that they need. Ted and I have been busy distributing the tax form l040A to the elderly and disabled so they can fill it out and send it in and get the promised 300 dollar tax credit There are a lot of people who don't have enough income, or who have social security or disability that is not enough to be taxable.

We have encountered so many people that had no idea they could benefit from filing their taxes on this form. If you know of anyone in this kind of situation, please let them know of the benefits that are available.

Ted's cousin, Betty gets about l,300 dollars a month and does more with it than you can imagine. She even helps her children financially and it is going to be a Godsend to her.
This was her first time to file since her income is that of a widow whose husband was disabled in World WarII. Veterans
compensation is not taxable at the l00 percent level. She will not have any trouble deciding what to do with the money.

I hope th at you can pass this information on to someone who needs it. Bye.....Jeri

Great public service that you are doing, Jeri. I need to see that my mother and aunt file so that they can get their refunds.

This is a good time of the year to urge the abolition of the personal income tax and of the IRS.
The Ron Paul 2008 campaign provides good information on the subject.

Good point. I worry about people who don't know any better going in to get help from seasonal employees at tax franchise places and paying too much for poor advice.
