Sunday Morning

I have no dramatic news to impart but it is a beautiful
sunny morning and I have just finished my mile walk around
the neighborhood. I plucked a ripe peach off of my
neighbors tree that hangs over his fence and it was a
perfect addition to my breakfast. There is nothing like
a warm, juicy sun ripened peach.

We went to the movies yesterday and saw Love and Mercy.
It was something of a downer and Ted lost his glasses.
We went back and retrieved them from lost and found which
was a minor miracle.

The bugs are out in full force and in addition to the
noseeums we now have some kind of biting fly. I think
all this moisture has brought them on.

Ted has done something to offend Rex and so Rex is glued
to my side. Who can fathom doggie angst?

I do miss tales of Rex! Wish i had the time to come by more often.

I can taste that peach... How perfect.
I love Rex and all "his" stories!

Rex is a clown and he has odd whims. I got him a new rug and he refuses
to sleep on it. They say dogs can't see colors but he wants his blue
rug which is tattered and torn. Dogs are wonderful!

The hot weather here is a nice change from all the rainy, cold days - it'll make the garden grow. We're hoping to get back into a weather pattern where we get two or three rain showers a week so we don't need to water the lawn so much.

I have more tomatoes about to ripen. If we have good hot days the supply
may keep up with the demand.

All the better to make the garden grow, John. I predict that our summer
will be very humid.

The wrong kind of flying insects can be a real pain. We had a bee shortage last summer but enough flies and mosquitoes to go around. The squash patch used to be loud in the morning, but last year, almost no sounds. Hopefully the ground rodents are gone and the bees will come. The garden is off to an excellent start so far. I can't imagine eating a warm peach. I'd prefer to not eat a cold one either, so maybe that's it. Enjoy the sun, we have rain.
