I had been religiously avoiding the bathroom scale because
my jeans were getting tight and I just didn't want to know. Denial is a potent adversary.
Last Monday morning I got on the scales and faced up to a
six pound weight gain.
I reviewed my options and decided against a restricted calorie diet because I am always hungry. I settled on
Dr. Atkins and this morning, one week later I am down six
and a half pounds.
As always happens, my SIL called me and wanted to go to
a new Mexican restaurant today at noon. Of course, I wanted
to go but I defy you to find high protein-low carb food at
a this kind of queen of starchiness. I succumbed to
temptation, I did,and ate lots of tortillas and enchiladas.
Having shot myself in the foot so to speak, I will try and
get back in the cottage cheese and hamburger patty mode.
It seems a little silly to be concerned as my 86th birthday is approaching, but I come from a long line of
vain women.
Our Donna lost a lot of weight on the Dr. Atkins diet and
it works best for me. It kills hunger and that is a big
plus. I cheated a little but am very satisfied with my
weight loss and I am going to try to take off ten more
pounds while I am in the zone. Keep your fingers crossed
for me.
