We had good news yesterday, Ted's spinal condition is operable now that we have found a surgeon with enough skill
to do it. we are just waiting for the scheduler to call
telling us when. The very thought of throwing the wheel
chairs into oblivion makes us both happy beyond belief.
He has numb feet and a lot of back pain and hopefully that
will be a thing of the past.
I have been cleaning and organizing the house and doing
hand laundry by machine and cleaning my closet . In the
process, I found a cute black dress from Talbots Petites
that will be perfect with boots. I avoid black as a rule
because golden dog fur shows up dreadfully on it but I
will wear this dress and avoid until I am out of the
house.
As usual all of Ted's appointments have made him sick. He
got a virus at the hospital Friday and has been in bed all
day when not camped out in the bathroom. He has had some
auditory hallucinations and gets very disoriented and has
memory problems but as far as the dementia is concerned, it is about stage three. We compare it with Ted's mother's decline. She hallucinated quite a lot before she
had to go to a nursing home. Some of her delusions were
hilarious but others were sad. She though Dan Rather was
her boyfriend and she dressed up every afternoon at five
thirty because he came to see her then. It is a sad disease.
