I am trying to stay positive about the good things in my life. 1. I talk to my daughter every day on the phone. 2. My mini garden is yielding a lot of summer squash. 3. Laura and I are in daily contact as are Mike and Fredo. 4. I have good neighbors and chat with them outside. 5. The yard is pretty with hanging baskets and ferns. 6. I have Tina coming once a week to clean and she is not your average cleaning woman. She has a degree and is very smart and funny as well as being a good cleaner. 7. Ted and I enjoy each others company. I sorely miss my social life! I miss going out to eat and having a nice drink which ted and I took for granted. I miss lunches with the girls. The new normal sucks bigtime. We took our small pleasures for granted. We could go to the movies if we so desired or during the season, we could enjoy theatre. We have had to cancel trips. I wonder if things will ever be normal again, especially if the orange menace is allowed to extend his presidency. Be well and be careful dear friends.

We have to look on the bright side, see the silver lining. Gonna go count my blessings now.

Good luck! they don't seem to outweigh the losses.

It is a pretty lonely time. I dislike how everyone just texts instead of calling.

The telephone helps a lot. We are having online meetings and although you can see each other, it is sure not the same. I keep telling myself it won't be forever but at my age it probably is.

That is really tough. Laura and my sister made us masks and I bought a few. Someone told me that panty liners make good filters but I haven't tried that yet. I lost two friends to the virus. One was a gifted teacher and the other a thoroughly nice man. Both about 50.

Right now our struggle is deciding on the school year for the kids. We can choose hybrid, which is 2 days in school and 3 days distance learning; or all distance learning.
We were thinking of doing hybrid because the kids haven’t seen any peers for about 4 months now! But even in school it’s going to be 6 feet apart which I fear might be harder for them (to stay away from friends) than just not seeing them. Such a strange time! I’m thankful that you are around, I know how depressing this all is.

I really don't know what I would do. Maybe home school the kids and let them have masked play date? This is going to be super hard for mothers who work. How in the devil are they going to find someone to keep their children safely while they are gone?

I'm really not missing much these days. We actually do more takeout than we did before. it pays not to have a life. Not that I don't get pleasure out of what I do around here, but it's the normal.

I told ted that I thought we would better off if we had not sold the farm and the lake house. We would have the great outdoor life that we do not have here. I think that is why you and Donna are content.

My friend Nadine dropped off two more masks that she made for us. I don't sew. Our dearest friend, Jean, has the virus and finally went to the hospital. I'm glad they had room for her. But hospitals aren't allowing visitors. We are very worried about her. She considers me her surrogate mom.
