An Ordinary Day

This is just an ordinary Friday with a lot of technical
frustration. Ted has been trying to hook up blue ray and a
home theater with no results. The Geek squad is going to
come out and do it in the morning. Grr!

I am bringing Adrienne home with me this evening. We are
going to have a talk. I promised her father that I would.
It may result in mild bribery. That always works. She is
deep in teen angst. Her grades are excellent but she thinks
she is unattractive. She had a 4.26. The extra credit is
for advanced courses. I think she is just too smart to be
popular. It is intimidating. Bobby wants me to talk her
into letting him take her for a makeup do over. I know it
is very superficial but the child is unhappy.

The wind is so cold, although it is bright and sunny. An
itinerant guy who comes around much too frequently raked
leaves for me today. He needs the work desperately, although the exercise would be good for me. I can hardly
wait until spring to get started on my flower and minuscule
vegetable garden.

Which of the girls in the photo is she? They are both beautiful! Nothing wrong with a do-over either. TV is full of ladies that are both beautiful, sexy and plenty intelligent! It is no longer one or the other. Must just be teen angst because the girls are downright pretty.

Is she into make up? I probably would have liked that at that age. I hope she is feeling better, I just saw a pic and she is super cute!

We can't seem to convince her that she has all the right stuff. She is
very confident of her intellectual ability but not of her looks. I am
so glad not to be a teen ager again.

I think the makeover is a great idea - the person doing it will tell Adrienne what all her good points are, and it can't hurt to hear that from someone outside of the family.

I know. We can tell her she has pretty eyes, (jade green) and that they are
lovely with her dark hair but it does no good. She doesn't even have zits.

Just the thought of spring is such a lovely dream, but the reality is still weeks away. Tonight an Arctic deep freeze is blowing in. If we make a high of 10 degrees tomorrow, we'll be lucky.

Sending cheer and support to Adrienne. Wishing her confidence.

Adrienne is a lovely girl. I expect she'll grow out of feeling like the ugly duckling. I did.

I am impressed at your gardening skills. I did have some flowers that I planted early on and was really pleased with the look, then Wilma came and wiped everything out and I said the Hell with it.

Do you think Adrienne needs "glamming up"? Of course, it is how she feels that counts and a make-up do-over might give her a little more confidence. I don't recommend "dumbing down" for dates, but concentating on the other person is always seductive. She should train her focus away from herself.

Just a little mascara, just a little blush and it should do wonders for
her self confidence. She is plenty pretty but she doesn't believe it, she
thinks she is a hopeless nerd. I got results. She has promised to let
Bobby take her for a make over. charm school would help.

I'm sure your spring will come earlier than mine. We can't put tomatoes in the ground until June. Heartier seeds in late May. Good luck with the young lady... although you already know what to expect...

I was able to plant tomatoes the last of march and cover when it got cold.
Mine quit sooner than yours. Early Girls are my best ones. Southwestern
women are supposed to look feminine while they wrestle a steer if you know
what I mean.
