I Have Met My Waterloo!

It is the back yard. I have so much to do and have gotten utterly lazy. It was 90 degrees here yesterday and I
waited until late to work out there. I need to fertilize
the roses and fill in the holes that Rex has made.

It is so warm that all the fruit trees are blooming so
the freeze that is looming over our heads is going to
knock them out. I put some plants out but I am sure that
I will have to cover them up before March has made all the
mischief it can deliver.

Then, there is Ted's indoor work room. It is finished
except for the concrete floor. He can no longer use it and I am longing to convert it to useful space. It sould be
a fourth bedroom with half bath, an office or an exercise
room. I probably will do nothing to it for now. It
could be used for a studio if I was in the mood to paint
but my creative juices seem to have dried up.

Both Chicago and New York where I lived before moving to Florida, had routinely 90 degree days in July and August. And I also remember what it was like before everybody had air conditioning. Had a fan under my desk at my then office at the Chicago Convetion Bureau, trained it on my legs. Sleeveless dresses weren't "ladylike". What a repressive time.

Las Vegas has gotten more moisture in the last couple of months than fell here in Colorado. If the weather doesn't straighten out, this summer is going to be very hot and dry. I'm considering storing the family photographs in town in case of fire because there are so many boxes it would take a long time to load them into a vehicle if we were told to evacuate. Take it easy out there - drink lots of fluids, and I don't mean margaritas.

It is truly amazing that it has become so hot. The dogs are suffering
and Jose has to go on a diet. the bugs are already out in force.

Holy crap! 90 degrees is too hot even in July! We have that same fruit tree problem but it won't happen this year--too many below zero nights in MARCH! Now that is unusual.

I turned on the air conditioner today and all the ceiling fans. The dogs are going around with their tongues hanging out.
