This was a fancy shmancy affair for all the docents given by the Governor and her husband, the First Gentlemen. I don't like their politics but the Governor does have a sense of humor and is a fun person. One of the nicest former Governor's that I have met is Frank Keating. I hate his policies on education but chatting with him is like visiting with an old friend.
Wesley who is the chef, outdid himself with a menu of old fashioned comfort food and is bringing us recipes when we go back May 2 for the Boots and Bandanas party. I am bringing a friend as Ted doesn't want to go. It is always
a fun event. I just hope my cowboy boots don't hurt my feet.
We received goody bags of made in Oklahoma products. by the way, this is the only volunteer job that I have ever enjoyed and it came to me through my friend in the investment club that I belong to.
On another note: The fridge is still not fixed but I had to buy a new one. I want the old one fixed for a spare in the garage for cold drinks and stuff. This one makes ice like nothing I have ever seen. It is impossible to
deplete it. Sending my best wishes to all.
