The Light Bu;lb Went On

I just realized last night that we had not renewed our drivers
licenses and mine was due this month and Ted's last month.
This will be our priority this morning.

Yesterday was lovely. I forced myself out in the rain to go
to our book club and we had a lively discussion. I wished our
selections were meatier. I didn't like either of the books
that were selected but it is nice meeting new people.

The sun came out and I went to the hardware store a few blocks
down the street and found three beautiful trailing geraniums
in hanging baskets, gerbera daisies and more garden soil.
I also got a tidbit of information. The girl that helped me
load the car had taken a class and told me that gerbera daisies and geraniums were of the same family.

I got home with my loot and had a fun time getting it all
out. Henry is coming next week to tend to the lawn. This
3.2 inch rain has made him popular.

We are taking the girls plus one friend each, to the circus
next Saturday. We are both looking forward to it. I think
one of the problems with the elderly is that we are not with
young children enough. I feel blessed that my children both
married late and there are still young ones around to keep
us feeling the fiestiness of youth.

This is such a trying time in our lives but I am hoping that
this spring which is bursting with promise and renewal will
bring hope and healing to our all our lives.

I wish I had a neighbor like you. Yes, your positive attitude is contagious!

Things are looking up. Bobby's energy is low but he seems more positive.
I feel terribly sorry for Ellie and I have tried to explain how some
people convert stress and tension to physical pain and that she must eat
regularly.

Thanks for the reminder. I need to check my license and find out when I need to renew.

In Oklahoma, we have to renew for four years on our birth month and it is
free to seniors.

We had a good experience and both of our pictures looked like us and not
convicts.

Our joy comes from watching the kids get transported into another world.
But, I am still child enough to enjoy all the acts.

I like hardware stores, not like Lowes and Home depot, but the smaller ones. There can be interesting stuff in them.

This one is a really good store and has plants grown in our area so it is
pretty certain that they will do well here.

So nice to hear talk of planting! Everything here is a month ahead of normal, at least, but as long as we don't get a hard frost (which isn't unusual this time of year) we'll be enjoying a long spring/summer. I have all my squash seed bought and it's hard to resist the temptation to gamble and start a few plants early. Haven't heard anything about which parts of the country are still in a drought, but that much rain is certainly encouraging. This "climate change" changes all the norms... not only temperature, but flooding and drought will become more common and as of yet, unpredictable.

I am taking the gamble and will fall back on our vast collection of tarps
if we have a late freeze. I am going to plant squash in a few days. I
heard encouraging news of a mild summer and I sure hope that happens.

Your upbeat affect is inspiring. I hope things get better soon. Enjoy the circus. Last time for me was in, maybe, the late 40s.
