Just Toying with an Idea

A person close to me is having an eye lift. That person
is 82. I am wondering if it would be beneficial to me as
well. I would like to look better but on the other hand
I am so old that I might not get long to enjoy it and
it would hurt. I readily admit that I am vain. What do
you all think, is it worth it?

On another note, we celebrated Bobby's birthday yesterday.
My sister took me out to lunch and shopping. I had
Bobby's best friend and wife and Ellie and the girls over
for dinner. We shared our memories and laughed a lot.
We drank a lot of White Zinfandel and shared our love for
him. It was a good time.

I am going to vote in the municipal election as soon as I
get dressed. The boy who was ring bearer in Linda's wedding is all grown up and running for City Council. I
worked at the same school as his grandmother. I am happy
to cast my vote for him. We need a new mayor too.

Tomorrow night, our Laura and Karl will be here to spend
the night. I will be excited to see them. It is a
busy week because tonight Ellie and I have investment
club but I like it that way.

My opinion is unless your upper eye area is sagging down so much it is impairing your vision, I don't think it's worth the risk of the surgery.

One of my eyes is droopy but I am leaning toward no surgury.

I guess I understand -- After I saw the wonderful results my sister got with a mini-lift and some work on her eyes, I realized I’m not against the average facial surgery and if I had money to, I… might get something done around the jawline. But that said, my sister is in excellent health, is a physician herself and knew how to get the best outcome; she sometimes seems superhuman, never got pimples as a kid and has never even had a cavity in her teeth. I saw her after the surgery and the recovery is frightening-looking. The trauma the body goes through, including the general anesthetic, is taxing to even the young.

I am super healthy but my daughter and my husband are totally against
it since they think it is not worth the risk. If I were younger, I would
do it in a heart beat!.

Our healing abilities aren't so great when we're older. Seems very risky.

Don't do it. You are beautiful AS YOU ARE plus I always think it's obvious... And you risk looking really weird. Totally not worth it IMO.
Glad you got thru Bobbys birthday with family.

I don't relish the pain and anesthesia is dangerous at our age so I am
leaning toward forgetting it and Ted doesn't want me to do it.

Hmmm... an eyelift: another Joan Rivers? I suppose it's not noticeable in some cases, but in others, look out. You have to wonder if some of those women can close their eyes. I suppose the debate I had with myself about continuing to color my beard is similar. But as you can see in my avatar which happens to be right beside me at the moment, the beard had been gray for several years now. So practical Jeri and vein Jeri can have the debate and see who wins.

Thanks for clarifying the options. I am still undecided.
