Good Days

I have gotten a lot done. Massive grocery shopping and
end of the month stuff. I still need to call in Ted's
prescriptions and give Rex his monthly medication. It is
always more difficult on Holiday weekends.

Did I tell you that I carelessly backed into my neighbor's
truck? My car just got out of the body shop. They went
beyond my expectations and when my car was returned, they
had washed, waxed and detailed it. They also included a
bottle of touch up paint for scratches. I was so pleased,
although very angry with myself for the fender bender.

I had some lovely "Me" time yesterday. Phyllis and I
went to the Capitol and toured the Governor's mansion and
had a great lunch afterward. The mansion is beautiful
and the landscaping is breathtaking. There were thousands
of annuals and grasses. Our state is so broke that I sort
of deplored the amount of money spent on gardening.

Adrienne graduated with honors last weekend. We are
so proud of her. She is O.U. bound. Bobby went to O.U.
on a Leadership scholarship and the recruiters have been
so sweet to her and made her aware of her father's
legacy. We miss him so much.

I always worry that I'll hit one of my other cars when I'm backing around in the driveway. The truck has a backup camera and beeper things that seem much too sensitive, and I miss that a little bit when I'm driving the car, which is most of the time. I have often wished we could switch the backup camera on when we are driving forward in order to get a second look at the scenery we've just passed.

I wasn't looking at my back up camera and it doesn't have a sensor
that beeps. My carelessness cost 500 dollars. ugh.

I know the feeling. Cherish the memories. Sometimes when I walk, I have imaginary conversations with Jay. Sometimes I message him in Morse Code that he taught me,dit-dahing my thoughts. And I use 73 as the required part of a password that asks for some numbers. It means "best regards" for some reason in the language of radio amateurs.

I talk to Bobby all the time in my head. The last six weeks of suffering
lodge in my memory so I look at pictures of him when he was well. The
love never stops. I wish he could have seen how beautiful his
daughter looked in her cap and gown.

I bet he is deeply missed, always and forever.
I'm glad your car came back better than ever!!

I was really shocked at the lengths that the body shop went to. It is
like having a new car. Hug Ron and the kids extra hard for me.
