Getting it On

I never thought watching other people work would be so
exhausting. I had the tree limbs cleared from the roof
on Saturday and barely recovered my peace after that and
now It is the diseased Sweet Gum tree in the front yard
biting the dust.

I knew it had to go eventually but a guy came by today
who was totally desperate for work and made me a deal
I couldn't refuse. I feel like I am taking advantage of
him so I am offering sandwiches and drinks for lunch. It
will probably leave a mess but he vowed to clean it up.
I want to plant a magnolia tree in it's place at the
proper time. Magnolia trees grow well here on the South
or East side of the house.

It disturbs me to have workers here. I can't seem to relax
until they are gone. Still and all, I am getting a lot of
clean up done before winter sets in. The last thing
will be the carpet cleaning the last of the month.

You are so sweet to offer food to your helpers...

It's different when they're not camped out on your property. That definitely is nerve-wracking.

I can just imagine how bad that would be.

If it's like here, guys who do outdoor work on their own all just need cash, so it sounds like it was good on both sides. I miss the guy who showed up here every so often and would offer to clean all the outside windows, something I cannot do.

It was a win win for both of us but I worried about his being homeless.
I told him to come back from time to time to see if I needed more work
done. My big worry was that he was possibly a meth addict...skinny,
poor teeth, rapid movements and no apparent need to eat because I
offered lunch and he refused. I don't want him to have to live in his
truck all winter.

I don't like having people in my space for any period of time, not even invited guests. I'd rather visit them and go home when the time comes. You really have an impressive view of life. Donna wants a tree on the front lawn but we both agree that would have to be (at least) fast growing.

I like having invited guests but I always worry that workmen will do something to disturb the neighbors and it makes me tense.
