I am so tired of the endless and useless mail that I
receive from every charity in my known world. It is not
unusual for me to get 20 solicitations a day and most of
them contain name and address labels that h ave to be
destroyed and clog up most shredders. I have just spent
an hour burning up an accumulated amount of them. I am
not grateful for these unwelcome gifts. I regularly donate
to Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity and Heifer inter-
national and they must sell their lists, or a least one
of them does.
My family is all sick or out of commission to add to the
irritating surplus mail. Ellie had cataract surgery. I
took her to the clinic yesterday at 5:30 a.m. for surgery
and back again this morning to take Ashley to school and
back to the clinic at 7:30 to have bandages removed. Of
course we waited 30 minutes for the surgery to begin after
stressing about getting there on time.
Laura had to be in Oklahoma City for xrays this morning
at nine a.m. so she and her father spent the night with
us. I wish I had been able to prepare breakfast for
them but since I had to dash, I just set cereal out on
the table, urged them to get what they wanted from the
fridge and was out the door. They cleaned up after
themselves nicely and Linda assured me that it was atypical behavior...lol.
Life is full of these little blips and I am anxious
to hear how Laura's Xray's turned out. She had a tumor
on the bone, detected when she sprained her ankle. This
was a follow up visit with a specialist. I sent her
back to college with a large bag of soups and canned
chicken and easy things to eat in a hurry. She is
getting her degree in fashion design all by herself, and
she has two part time jobs. I worry about her. Sara
had a full scholarship so it wasn't as difficult for her.
Adrienne's path should be smooth also. I have wonderful
grand daughters!
