Christmas in November and Another Surprise

Today has been a good day. Bobby was feeling a lot better
and wanted to take me to lunch. He also felt like going
to the library and the pet store to get Mandy one of those
balls that you put peanut butter in. I think it is enough
to drive a dog crazy but then I wouldn't dare get Rex one
because he would eat the whole ball to get the treat.

I was delighted to see Bobby able to eat a Chill Relleno
and rice and beans. He has lost a lot of wieght. Last
week he had no appetite.

I have finished my Christmas shopping and only lack
a little bit of wrapping. We are expecting a new baby
in the family and I found a little white cap and gloves
for that new great great niece or nephew.

I had an unusual visit today from a neighbor who is running
for city counsel. Unusual because he was the ring bearer
at Linda's wedding and the grandson of a friend of mine.
I got to catch up with news of his family. Now he is in
his late thirties his beautiful golden hair is no more.
It turned dark and departed and I discovered that he
only lives four houses west of me. Small world.

When the guy at the shelter where I got Benny told me about putting peanut butter in a kong and letting the dog lick at it for hours I thought it was a mean thing to do. But it kept Benny busy for hours. Not that I'm superstitious but Benny has his kong and his hamburger in the next life with him.

I guess it eases canine boredom and I am glad it gave Benny pleasure.
I am still hoping for an afterlife for all good pets.

I guess my grandaughter, Ashley has my genes. She has finished her
Christmas shopping too. I have a good day when Bobby feels well but then you know all about that.
