Everyday Happenings

Ted has been making jewelry for friends and family and now
he is going into the business. I have a friend who is going
out of the business and he bought a lot of her stones and
findings. I had some cards printed and he is doing mostly
Native American stuff. It fascinates him and he finds it
soothing. I was able to skim off the stones that I particularly like for myself.

Next week is all final activities for the girls and jury
duty for Ellie so I will be taking them to school. I always
enjoy the band concerts.

I have booked a two day vacation in Branson and it is fun
anticipating it. We need a break from every day life and
it will be a good test to see if Ted will be able to go on
the cruise next fall. Every thing worked out perfectly
including Rex's place at the Boarders. I would hate to
change because he really likes the people who own it.

I got a surprise in the mail. Fredo sent me a book he thought I would like and I am enjoying it.

Ms. Robin who foolishly made a nest in a hanging basket of
petunias, now has seven eggs in it. I am watering it by
hand so as not to damage her eggs but she isn't on the nest
much so I rather doubt if they will hatch. However she
and her husband scold me every time I go outside. She
is probably too young and giddy to take motherhood seriously.

Now we know how the expression "bird-brained" came to be.

Yes, my thought exactly!

Ah yes birds swarming you for being near the nest...
Fredo is so sweet! And I hope your trip goes well.

The birds are hilarious. We now have a little brown bunny that sits in the
front yard and eats grass. He must live close by because he is almost
always here.

That kind of task will do Ted a world of good!

Yes, I think it will. It allows him to be creative and to accomplish
something.

I didn't know robins laid that many eggs. Sometimes other bird species (cuckoos for one) will lay their eggs in a nest and let the nest owner nurture them, and then their babies hatch and kick out the owners' family, and then I saw something where other robins might borrow another robin's nest for an egg or two.

That probably explains why there are only four blue eggs and three speckled
ones. The cukoos sound like lazy teens.

It's great that Ted has found a focus and can even make money at it, which is always a boost to self-esteem. Is Branson a terrific place? I've been hearing about it for years. Give Rex a hug from me.

Branson is devoted almost solely to entertainment. There is something for
everyone. We will see the Shoji Tabuchi violin concert as well as cruising
on the Branson Belle and three other events so your day is pretty crowded.
There is a lot of hillbilly vaudeville type entertainment too and you
leave feeling good.
