It seems that in Dallas, avid knitters are decorating lamp
poles, signs and whatever they want to and can reach with
strips of knitting. I don't believe that you and Laura
are that far gone yet.
Thinking of this got me wondering why they aren't knitting
hats and gloves and scarves for the school children and the
elderly poor who can't afford necessary clothing. This
is an opportunity less whimsical but far more worthy than
wasting it on public property.
Often at garage sales I come upon pretty afghans that have
been crocheted or knitted going for two or three dollars.
I can't bear to see all that work wasted so I buy them and
give them to someone who will appreciate the dillagence
with which they were created, always reserving one or
two for myself. They are wonderful for snuggling.
