The Easiest Christmas Candy

Melt white chocolate and add crushed peppermint sticks to the
chocolate and heat until they melt. I used the double boiler.
It makes a white and pink candy and tastes very rich.

I prefer pralines but all the grandaughters love this recipe.
I have to find a candy thermometer. They don't seem to be
that plentiful so in the meantime I am making fudge and
the peppermint and white chocolate. I know I could find a
candy thermometer at Walmart but I hate that place and avoid
it if at all possible.

I could never make divinity or Aunt Bill's brown candy. Let
me know if you have a foolproof recipe.

Ugh... I just finished breakfast, but I'm ready for desert!

I am always ready for dessert and sometimes have pie for breakfast.

I went ape and bought a box of chocolate covered cherries at BJ's a day ago. Either I will give them to my sis for a Christmas present, or I will have one a night for the next year. My dad always gave us this candy for Christmas and birthdays. As a teen, I could easily eat 10 in one sitting and not gain an ounce. I like the variety at Wal-Mart. It's the customers that scare me.

I hate huge big stores and Walmart customers scare me too. Sara goes at all
hours of the night and I find that especially scary. I always used to receive chocolate covered cherries for Valentines day.

I'm not too fond of peppermint. Pralines is a different matter! Frankfort has a chocolate factory (Zachery's--used to be Peter Paul) where their outlet store sells chocolate cheap. Thin mints for 50 cents a box, etc. Beats making my own.

You are lucky to have an outlet store but I think there is nothing like
home made candy.

Oh my, yesterday I found a quart of premium Hagen Daz peppermint bark ice cream. I may eat it for breakfast.... I love nuts and usually make a batch of cinnamon sugar pecans, but this year I'm hunting for a spicy savory nut recipe.... Ho-Ho-Hope we both find the recipes we desire!

I love peppermint ice cream. We have a wonderful ice cream store that specializes in the unusual. Ted gets Cherries, pecans and Cream and I
go for Bordeaux Cherry Ameretto , peppermint and Pistachio. I am going to
make sugared walnuts.
