The Christmas Spirit

The minute December l rolled around, I started feeling it
from my head to my toes. I can't wait to finish shopping
and put up the tree. I have already made one batch of fudge
and have gotten the Christmas cards ready to mail. I just
need to get packages off and make one trip to the post office
do it. I hate our Post Office. The lines are horrible unless
you go very very early.

I will buy gift cards from Marshall's for Ellie and Bobby and
I always give them a family membership to the Science Museum.
I give magazine subscriptions to both families and I have a
present for Linda which I will not disclose because I suspect
she reads this blog. The little girls have a list and I will
choose something from it.

Rex and Chewey will have to be content with a bone.

Haven't felt the Christmas spirit since the early 60s. Don't feel sorry for me. I'm okay with it. It's a lot like not eating ice cream. You get used to it.

That is a long time to go without that lovely feeling. Ted never feels it
and says he doesn't miss it.

You are missing fun times. Think of all the gifts you have at your finger tips like shelled nuts and sun dried tomatoes.

Got the Ho-Ho-Happy Spirit on the first Sunday of Advent last Sunday. Had a very fun shopping day today with my friend, and I'll be making some craft gifts and cookies. Lots of fun!!

It just creeps up on you and all of a sudden you find yourself in true
Christmas mode.

I have spent all year trying to think of a gift to send to my cousin in England who sends me the knitted things that I love so much, and have come up totally blank. One time I sent her some yarn, and she wrote back: "Never send me any wool" (not in the sheep sense, but that's what they call any type of yarn). Not a clue. And I'm pretty much in the same boat with respect to something to send to you. Going to take a nap now, maybe it will come in a dream.

my shopping is almost done - already have the few Christmas cards I'm sending ready to mail on the kitchen table - I might bring out the small lighted tree this weekend - the outside lights have been on every night for the past few days - I'm all good so far xxx

Congratulations. I just have a few gifts to pick up and my cards are addressed. Fun times.

OOOOOO man I totally forgot about Christmas cards. Eek. Those are such a mountain of work. Well not really but they seem like it at first. We put our tree up Monday. It's small but sufficient. Have fun!

I made some peppermint and white chocolate and packaged it in a little house
for Phyllis and Renee. I congratulated myself on finding the house which is
supposed to hold spaghetti. So appropriate for a realtor.

Many consider December as their favorite month. I'm not among them.
Enjoy shopping. I won't and don't--well, maybe for my grandson!

Your reply went to the top somehow. You do have lovely gifts at your finger
tips like dried fruit, nuts etc.
