Earthquakes and More

We were awakened with an unearthly howl coming from Rex at
4:30 a. m. It sounded like something the wolf man would do
just before he made the transition to a an evil wolf. It was
not your normal howl in response to a siren. He appeared to
be ok and not in distress.

Rex is very sensitive to atmospheric changes. We have had
a number of minor earthquakes recently. The worst one was
3.0 on the Richter scale. We had one last week that rattled
the windows and Rex was frightened all day long. He stuck
to me like glue. I have noticed some hairline cracks in the
ceiling from all this activity.

We live six miles from a fault line. I am attributing all
these small quakes to drillers trying to squeeze more oil
and gas out of old wells. They frak these old wells trying
to get all they can out of them while gasoline is so expensive.

There was definitely something going on this morning. The
wind was unusually high and the air just smelled wrong. I
hope it doesn't brew up a tornado.

Would have no trouble cuddling with Rex. Glad it was a false alarm.

Those earthquakes in Oklahoma have become fuel for the anti-fracking contingent here in Colorado. Back in the 1970s Denver started having earthquakes that were attributed to the pumping of toxic waste from nerve gas into deep wells, and they stopped when the pumping stopped.

The earth quakes are like sonic booms. Not much to alarm but still very
new to us. Rex likes to cuddle and he is so sweet that you would have to
be a monster to refuse him.

The storm activity occurs mostly in April so you will be safe. It was a
false alarm.

Every year, we say we are going to build a safe room but we never get it
done. Maybe this summer!

Sounds like Mother Nature having a bad dream experience. Hope nothing more occurs.

Rex appears to be fine. His appetite is ferocious but he is too fat and
needs more exercise. I can't walk him because he is so strong that he gets
away from me. Once he bolted and I had to chase him clear to the shopping
center.

Sorry Rex was so frightened. I trust you made nice and he felt better. We get fires and hurricanes, but, so far, no quakes. I can only be grateful. Hope your area escapes all these events.
