Dog days are almost here but it is always dog days at our
house. Little Jose has gained an amazing amount of weight and can no longer walk in the heat so we have to get up and go at 6:30 a. m. when it is relatively cool. He weighed six and a half pounds when we got him and he has become
a l4 pound chunk of lead. Fortunately, he is losing his appetite and I h ave begun measuring his food. It just sneaked up on us overnight.
My twins have failed me and did not show up this week to mow. The yard was looking disgraceful so I mowed it myself. It was hard because I am allergic to grass and
my nose and my eyes just streamed.
Our Laura is doing well in NYC. She is making enough money to support herself tending bar while looking for a design internship. We have been astonished that her tips aren't as good at the glam rooftop bar as they were in our university town.
Both dogs need shots before the end of July so that is something we need to do.
My hairdo from hell is growing out enough that I am no
longer enslaved by the beauty shop. I can style it
myself.
Watering is a daily chore. Even so, I still will take
hot summer over winter any day.
Adrienne, my brilliant grand daughter is in Italy, studying abroad. She says it is the best thing she has ever done. I am happy for her because she is an engineering student and needs the enrichment. So far, she is in love with the real Italian pasta and Florence.
It is pretty much dullsville around here. Ted and I read and watch movies. We are waiting for Hero to come to our
theater so I can enjoy Sam Elliot. Katherine Ross is a lucky woman.
